Our group representatives, Anthea and Stephen, were very humbled to be invited to last night’s community meeting for businesses affected by the floods in Downpatrick. Our hearts are very much with businesses and families as they navigate this very distressing period.
While their focus rightly remains on securing support and financial package, we want to reassure them that we, as a community representative group, will be sending a consolidated response to all relevant agencies outlining why we believe the flooding happened, and what actions need to be put in place at the River Quoile to prevent it happening again.
PLEASE HELP US
We need your help to build an evidence-based timeline over the week from the first ‘puddle’ to the eventual draining. If you have any photos or kept a diary log, please send this to hello@cleanthequoile.com or message us here. Likewise if you have any photos / videos from the last 5-10 years of the plank drain at the Downpatrick and County Down Railway, the tunnels/arch on Belfast Road or new barrier please send them to us.
